How to drink Nelly
There is nothing quite as versatile as a tonic cordial, and Nelly Tickner is no exception. Here are a few of our favorite ways to enjoy Nelly in good spirits!
The Classic Gin & Tonic
Nelly Tickner tonic cordial is used instead of traditional, carbonated tonic waters. Depending on the type of gin you are mixing with, different measures of Nelly can be used to bring out or emphasise the subtle flavours of the chosen gin.
It's quite easy to make a Gin & Tickers:
2 parts gin
1 part Nelly Tickner
200ml soda water
Slice of orange/ fresh ginger/ sprig of rosemary
Plenty of ice
TOP TIP: mix the gin and Nelly gently in the glass before you add ice and soda for best results.
The Nellygroni
A simple twist on the discerning gin lovers favourite, the Negroni.
1 part gin
1 part Campari
1 part sweet red vermouth
1 part Nelly Tickner
Stir all the ingredients in a mixing jug with plenty of ice, and strain into a rocks glass with fresh ice - the larger your ice, the better. Fire and twist some orange peel over the drink to release the oils.
The Bee's Knees
This 1920's sweetheart of a cocktail was one of Nelly's favourites.
50ml gin
10ml Nelly Tickner
5ml water
15ml fresh lemon juice
Pour into a cocktail shaker with some ice, shake and strain into a coupe glass, garnish with a twist of orange peel.
